At Ladakh 365, we provide a fleet of premium motorcycles, including the Royal Enfield Himalayan 452cc and the Harley Davidson 440x, to ensure your ride across the Himalayas is powerful and reliable. By renting from us, you agree to the following terms:
1. Eligibility & Documentation
- Driving License: A valid Original Physical Driving License (authorized for motorcycles with gear) is mandatory. Foreign nationals must provide an International Driving Permit (IDP) alongside their home country license.
- Age Requirement: Riders must be at least 19 years of age.
- Identity Proof: A copy of your Aadhaar Card, Passport, or Voter ID must be submitted at the time of pickup.
2. Rental Period & Timings
- Rental Cycle: Our standard rental day runs from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
- Late Returns: A grace period of 30 minutes is allowed. Beyond that, a late fee of ₹500 per hour will apply. If the bike is returned after 9:00 PM, a full additional day’s rent will be charged.
- Minimum Rental: During peak season, a minimum rental of 2 days may apply for certain models.
3. Security Deposit
To ensure the safety of our premium fleet, a refundable security deposit is required per motorcycle:
- Himalayan 452cc / Harley Davidson 440x: ₹10,000 – ₹15,000 (Refundable).
- The deposit is returned immediately upon the safe return of the motorcycle, provided there are no damages or pending traffic fines.
4. Damage & Maintenance
- Inspection: We recommend taking a video/photos of the motorcycle during the handover. Any existing scratches or issues should be noted then.
- Liability: The rider is 100% responsible for any mechanical or cosmetic damage (broken levers, mirrors, dents, tire punctures) caused during the rental period.
- Genuine Parts: In case of damage, the cost will be calculated based on Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) spare part prices plus labor charges.
- Major Accidents: In the event of a major crash or theft, the rider is liable for the market value of the motorcycle or the insurance gap.
5. Fuel & Riding Rules
- Fuel: Motorcycles are provided with minimal fuel. You must return the bike with the same level of fuel or pay the difference. Only Speed/Premium Petrol is recommended for the Himalayan 452 and Harley 440x to maintain engine performance at high altitudes.
- Pillion Rider: Triple riding is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate cancellation of the rental without a refund.
- Off-Roading: While our bikes are built for Ladakh, extreme stunt riding or intentional misuse in river crossings that leads to engine “hydro-lock” will be charged heavily.
6. The “Outside Bike” Rule
In accordance with the Ladakh Biker’s Co-operative Limited regulations:
- Our motorcycles are locally registered and permitted for sightseeing in all restricted areas (Nubra, Pangong, Tso Moriri, Hanle).
- Please note that motorcycles rented from Manali, Srinagar, or Delhi cannot be used for sightseeing within Ladakh.
7. Breakdown & Support
- We provide a basic toolkit and spare parts (clutch cable, spark plug).
- In case of a breakdown, contact our Leh office immediately. While we offer remote assistance, the cost of towing the bike back to Leh due to rider negligence or accident will be borne by the client.
